Don't know if I could wait for Saturday if I where in your shoes but I'm sure the end result will be just perfect :D :D

Given the weather today (heavy rain here and the roads are filthy) I'm quite happy to wait for tomorrow.

Barten, the strengthening strap inside the front wings has been removed completely - it's not needed if the wing is secrured to the car properly with the upper and lower straps. Lots of the other rust areas on the panels are caused by there being very little or no paint on the back of the panel so once it's been cleaned up and painted it won't rust through.

Other panel modifications are mainly to remove lumpy factory weld seems and sharp edges, also welding pressed corners together properly where the edges of the panels are folded round.

Yippppppeeeeee, birthday, Christmas, anniversary, utd doing the treble all rolled into one for you. I also admire your patience, I would be down their as soon as Clive said its ready. then once its home and i seen all the rain, mud, slime etc would hav regretted it. Think by waiting your doing the right thing. dont forget the pics with all the excitement

Thankfully I have some work to do today so I can't fetch it early even if i wanted to.

And, it is our anniversay on Sunday.

Definitely needs a wohoo I reckon.

WOOOHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd be down there right now collecting it, I'm even tempted to go down myself but I'm at work so can't.

Great to see some pics of the finished car

Drive carefully !
And don't forget to revise your value if you're on agreed value insurance

Thanks Dave, I got home safely this morning.

Here's a pic outside Clive's workshop.

Then it rained as soon as I got home. Good bobbles on the paintwork though.

Soon it dried up and I managed to get a couple of decent photos.

I'm pretty chuffed with how it's turned out, particularly from this angle, it's every bit as good as I thought it would be.

I've just got to tidy up the interior a bit as it's a bit dusty and then we're ready to go to a show at Capesthorne Hall tomorrow.

I bet the drive home was exciting and scary at the same time, dropping back to avoid spray or rogue stone chips etc. Looks excellent.

That really is nice, makes it easier to hand over the cheque when you get something that well done.

I was going to Capesthorne but I have to change the front brakes on the Audi. Might try to make it to Thoresby on Monday though.

Thanks fellas, glad you like it.

Yep, everyone seemed drive exceptionally close and it took me a while to get used to driving it again.

very very nice, a mirror finish, are the badges going back on ?

Nope, no badges - I like it looking smooth and unclutered.

That's a shame, hope to finally catch up with you and Sparky at Rugeley then? I'm tempted by a trip up to Saltaire in a few weeks too.

I'll be at Rugeley; booked up, paid up, waiting for the paperwork.

My little sister is getting married the day before Saltaire and I am giving her away, as well as driving the wedding car (Sparky 8) ). If it wasn't in Dorset, I might have made it.

Just stunning definate need for sunglasses :D 8) What a shine, also like the smooth look. A top job done Paul

Ooooh that does look very good :D

Excellent beading on the paint too. Shows a good seal. Did Clive use wax or a sealant, or is that from the final laquer?

I see you've gone for the early rear light clusters. Will you be fitting a reversing light at some stage?

Dave

The photos don't do it justice to be honest, it really is a stunner. You don't get the full effect of either quality or the colour from the pictures, I was green with envy  .

Well now. Back in time for Rugeley! What odds are you giving on silverware to go with it!

I shall look forward to seeing you and EMF there!
