The View From The Windscreen

That's a very nice color combination! It makes me wonder what it would look like with the tops of the doors painted yellow to line up with the wing.

Great photo's Ron!

Noticed the one looking into the car, club lock in place, bad area or always used?

Id also imagine your p6 would have to be louder then trucks going through the tunnel too?

Yes they do quite nice together, both natural earthy colours, Mexico Brown and Saffron. One of my neighbours thought that my Rover had been made that way.. Before I swapped my Saffron front guard for the brown one, I was sitting at a set of lights and the car that had been behind me came up alongside. The car was wearing 'P' plates so the driver was likely to have been 18 years of age or so. Her friend, another girl was sitting in the front passenger's seat. I had my n/s front window down a little and with their window's down I could hear their conversation. "What a cool car the driver said,..I love the two tone look"
Needless to say, I was quite pleased by their favourable comments... :D

Hi Luke,

Thanks very much indeed,... :D

The club lock is just force of habit. That particular photo was taken in Hurstville Grove which is about 12 Miles (20km) from the centre of the city. It is a very nice suburb, quiet streets, parks, the Georges River meandering by.

In the tunnel my Rover certainly makes its presence felt. This wonderfully deep V8 roar bouncing off the walls... :D

I reckon it counts - rear window is often referred to as a "rear windscreen" after all  .
Very nice red interior too.

I hadn't realised that you had flat pleat vinyl - presumeably with the airtex perforated vinyl in the pleated panels? In which case I'd describe your car as a completely unique specification! And very close to my ideal - I'd have chosen White paint rather than Almond, although it must have been very fashionable when new!

Hello Chris
Ive always thought this was called ambla in toledo red
When I ordered the car , I was talked out of leather seats by the dealer as he felt the harsh Northern Australian temps would kill the upholstery .
I ended up with this interior .
Its still as good as new , so I guess he was right .

That is my ideal P6 interior, appearance wise (particularely in that colour)! The jury is out on comfort as I've never managed to sit in a flat pleat vinyl (= ambla) to compare with my current favourite of flat pleat Herringbone Cloth.

Looks in wonderful condition as you say! And I like the upgraded wood.

Chris

Came across this chap near Moorbel N.S.W with his tractor during Nov 2012. I sat there for a few minutes with the engine off as he didn't know that I was there. When he noticed me, he hopped in, moved slightly forward and then swung the bucket around so as to give me room to pass behind him.

You just need to add a couple of Rover badges and you can begin your Saffron coloured fleet Ron

Good to see a P6 out driving in even during the more severe weather Willy. Well done.
In West of Scotland today we didn't have any snow. I got a surprise when I went out to my car this morning. I was expecting to have to scrape the ice off the windscreen but there was none :) . After I drove off, I squirted some screenwash onto the windscreen. Within a couple of seconds the whole windscreen was frozen over  . I guess the air must have been very dry and the wind chill was taking it down below zero. So, I had to pull over and scrape it after all :( .

Never driven my P6 in snow. What's it like? I have M&S tyres on mine. So, might give a quick bash if we do get some snow (or are you guys down south going to keep it all to yourselves  ).

Great photo there, Willy! When we've actually had snow, and my P6 has been going, I was very impressed with it. It was very controllable, and never seemed to suffer any great lack of traction. Certainly felt a lot safer than some things! Even on untreated roads, the P6 feels very secure, whereas, in the MX-5, it's very easy to end up very sideways inadvertently.

Yes it does feel very capable in snow. Thursday night I drove over the Crimea Pass to Blaenau Ffestiniog when it was snowing quite heavily, and the only problem was the Mondeo in front going too slowly! I really would like to see what it could with proper winter tyres, but snow is so rare on Anglesey that it would be hard to justify the expense.
