The View From The Windscreen

Hi Ron, they are replacements of the standard items, 2 twin jet instead of the normal single ones.
Sounds a good idea. Does the pump cope alright or have you had to upgrade it?

(BTW, thanks for the write-up re: Fiat 128. I held off replying as we were so far off topic. )

I can't say really as i had already installed an additional modern pump hidden under the cap of the washer bottle. The impeller of the standard pump was disintegrating and wouldn't do much even with the standard jets.

(I guess that we are still on topic since you need adequate washers to see out of the windscreen! )

The following are some photos that I took during December 2012 in and around Sydney.

PC040151.jpg

At the intersection of King Georges Road and Forest Road at Hurstville. This location is approx 12 miles from the city centre.

Crossing Tom Ugly's Bridge, between Blakehurst and Sylvania. This location is approx 3 Miles from Hursville heading south.

Looking across the Georges River

I seem to be always sitting behind a Mercedes Benz, this time at Miranda.

On Taren Point Road approaching Captain Cook Bridge.

Looking out over the Georges River with Tom Ugly's Bridge in the distance.

A couple of night time shots.

Taken a few days ago, a quiet road wandering along under the ever darkening sky.

Bright lights provide comfort as the light from the sun slowly fades away.

From what I remember , the sun is out and 5 mins later its dark :D

I had a run out in HOT the other day and stopped along side the River Trent on the way back to snap a few photographs. I thought I'd captured the sunlight beaming a gap in the clouds, but on closer inspection it's a smear on the windscreen that I missed wiping off!

Today I noticed what appeared to be an Emu in a paddock. I made a 'u' turn down the road a bit and came back, then turned again in front of where the Emu was. He must have noticed that I was going to take a photo as he obliged by coming right over to the fence. He was in a paddock which contained a number of sheep, so I expect he was there to guard them. So apart from being obliging, he was probably keeping a watchful eye on me too. :)

Now that is the first Saffron Rover that I can recall seeing.

I like having my photo taken.

Ron.

Hi Ron .
Great pictures . Must be great to see things like emu's in the wild . We only got to see a purple one on the tv over here with a bloke called Rod Hull hanging out of it's Ass

Wonder if any production cars had a strip tacho?

Haven't I seen an old car with stacked strips? A Merc' maybe?

I was probably thinking of this one:

Mercedes did do some very attractive instrument displays, as did Citroen.

Hi Stina,

Thanks very much, and it certainly is. :)

I'd love to see some pics taken out through the windscreen of your Rover as your peruse the Dorset countryside. Be great to see what you see.

Thanks. That interior does look nice. Do you know which model it was?

Taken on Drive It Day, somewhere near Sherburn In ELmet

not great scenery, but not a moderner in sight, just the classics.
