Project...... 'PHAT' Rover!

WAS... going to 'wrap it' .....but paint is now the order of the day
the beauty of wrap is you can bodyfill sand and just wrap over, if it bubbles, lift fill sand and restick!

heres one I did earlier!
interesting picture, looks million dollars too.
how does wrap sick to the body?
how does wrap form to a curve?
how do you learn how to do it?
is it cost effective campared to painting...labour and materials?
that will do for now...

Hi Peter.

It's sticky backed....and you use heatgun to shape....
and in todays world, if you want to see how something is carried out, you have to look no further than You Tube and its all there for the world to see!
its only cost effective if you are buying the wrap or paint supplies and doing it yourself.
each process left to experts these day is costly, goes without saying.
a cheaper alternative I have used on 3 cars to date.....is FABLON...
ah brings back memories.....of how we used to revamp our old kitchen units with this!!!
all the best for xmas

hi Ray, thanks for the info.
I too remember Fablon, recovered my homework bench in my bedroom, when 14 yrs old, did a perfect job, then started looking around for anything else to cover with the left overs :) my bike mudguards look nice in pale blue with little spots, the only one in the school bike sheds!

Hi folks......Still chipping away at this.....took it onto street for first time in years to just turn around...as can only work on one side at a time! and i wanted to see what it looked like!...and run like and did it stop! ....

it's not far off, but i have said that for years now!

before anyone asks.....its for flipping up the rear number plate for shows...as i hate plates!!!

View attachment 11165

but as is my usual way...a simple idea becomes more involved as i didn't want the plate to show when flat from rear!...so the fuel flap mechanism had to go through the floor....would have been too easy for it to just fit to the floor wouldn't it!!!
