grill over lamp

what it may have looked like using black 'flyeyes' mesh on headlamps....

Cut edge off another bonnet...I thought in head this would work with a full length grill in between....but how wrong I was...

original grill..

later grill...it did hide more of x-member though..wasn't going to leave it...and would have modded this...in the mouth area..

what happens when it rains, I hear that it does sometimes in England, where does all the water go?
BTW, just found you project and started reading from the first page, a magnificent effort, bet its hard to stay focused? I'm doing a convertible morris minor and so far its
in year 5....o_O, anyway , I will keep on reading...
dont give up..
Peter
Hi Peter, thanks for your comment, I take it you are referring to the air intakes with water.......no problem, had hose on them, the grill diffuses the water, and if any gets through it just pops down the back of the panel and away.....
nice to know you are watching from far far away!!!.....

I know what you mean regarding time ............. I now try to pick off manageable chunks rather than going for mammoth ones, I kept my car driving pretty much through out, nothing like a blat up the road to garner some enthusiasm to carry on.

Will your car fit through the door when done ? - aye I bet its happened to someone ;)
Hi Cobraboy....
That's not a daft question...I have had doubts all along....but at least I didn't build it in the house like some guys have done!

That looks so much like a shark now, it’ll be due a new name!
Are the headlamps from another vehicle, or aftermarket? I plan on similar for mine but ideally wanted fully uk legal integrated halo ring items. BMW is probably my best bet but where are yours from?

hi, mine are from a BMW X5..

Well here is 'Phat Rover' escaped at last from its tomb!....been so long, I imagined it would be it's final resting place!

My lad has taken it away to do the body...I thought I had got it something like.....but what do I know......I was going to 'wrap' it.....so here are pics before its shiny application!!

What colour I hear you shout!......well I changed the colour in my head so many times......practically every week as I saw to-days new car colours pass me by.

So it's a waiting game again!!

I think I will leave the roof in its original colour to hark back to it's earlier life form.....but that's just todays thought....yesterdays thought was white!!!

....but I will see how it works against the body colour..

Not my sort of thing really, but this thread has been great to read & the modifications have been so well executed that I think it actually looks 'right'

I did think what would look really cool on a S1 P6 is a "hidden light" grille like the dodge charger. It'd have to be a perfect continuation made by chopping another original item and look absolutely "factory"

Very nice indeed

Are you leaving the handles off? My old de-cluttered car didn't have any, but I set them back into the door in a piece of pipe, and cut a slot in the front of the rear door, so I could get my hand in to pull the front door open. The other doors could only be opened from the inside.

Only pic I have is a bit blurry :(

That's what I looked like with hair :) No the chap in the back is my old black lab.

Excellent idea, PeterZRH. Don't know why I've never thought of that. Now I'm going to have to, at the very least, Photoshop a visual together...
Sorry for going off topic there, Northern Soul! Great to see your wicked whip out in the daylight. Looking forward to seeing it wrapped. Thinking about doing the same myself, to hide the places where my paintwork is bubbling up already until I can afford to get it repainted properly.
