My V8's makeover 2011.A respray, seat and webasto roof refurb

Update...

Just been to see Dean who was the painter of my TR6!!
Have had a chat about whats what and have agreed a 16 panel and door shut repaint price of £1000.
All panels will be done off the car and stored hopefully in time for my Easter/May hol stripdown and refit plans.
Original Davos white is a bit to grey for me,so thinking of going either Rover arctic white that will have to be mixed,or as its loads cheaper, an off the shelf Mercedes arctic white.
Anyone used the Merc white?? Got a piccy??

Off to strip the doors and wings down now,to get them ready to take over as and when he wants them.
1 more thing>>>> Anyone know what the code for the sill Huntsman brown is or the name of a close match for it??

All 4 wings stripped of bits, and safe in loft.
Decided on the best 4 doors that are going to be used,so trial fitted the red ones, and they fit great,am using the existing n,s,f and o,s,r doors,so ive stripped all 4 doors down to shell and bunged on spare red ones temp for now.

Going to use existing boot and bonnet,f&r screen scuttles and valences,so will bung spare various coloured ones on,and the tatty bumpers that have been sat in the garden for eons, for that rat look..
And then drive it to work the week before me hols!

Huntsman chocolate brown everflex vinyl! :(
Seems the original stuff is probably unobtanium at the moment! :(
Spoke to a guy at Martrim,he confirmed its almost impossible to find it,but if I send a sample he will get a roll made up,as he has been asked for it quite frequently by P6 Rover owners and now thinks its worth getting some made.
Will take about 6-8wks to get made and in and be £15 per linear metre .
So anyone else looking for the darker huntsman,ie milk chocolateish brown,,,watch this space and I will let you know when its in stock!
He is also getting some of the dark brown Ford stuff done as well if any Ford owners are looking for some!
I will be needing 4m to cover my P6's roof,1/4's and to have a new sunroof cover made!!
Sunroof cover will take about 2wks and be £125 by the proper tudor webasto makers,so doubt I will get it all done in time for easter, but at least it will be in the pipeline.
Once ive bought glue I reckon it will cost about £250 to recover it all!!
Just have to wait for a nice warm weekend to strip the old and fit the new!

Looks too good to need a repaint Bri!
Your roof is the later smoother grained vinyl and darker brown huntsman!!
Mine came off a terminally rusty 1973 V8!,being what I think is the middle shade of the 3 browns and the lumpier grained everflex vinyl.

Its down at Clive Annables this minute, should have it back in about six weeks, the paint on it was never the best and i wasnt happy with it,i know when i get it back it should be like a mirror hopefully, :D

If Clive works his magic on your paint job as he did on my engine you will be able to put your make up on using the bonnet as a mirror Bri.

I am considering doing it old english white??? :|
Rather than an in your face bright white, davos or arctic!
I can't decide!!!!
Got any thoughts??

I think that age of car suits davos or arctic white. Just personal preference... but ultimately its your car so don't listen to me :)

Personally I don't like OEW, too creamy. Personally I'd stick to an original colour for that year, Davos is a bit grey but I like it, and Arctic a little bit brighter. In your face Bright White is normally Diamond White. I've had two P6's (at least) in Davos, and two trucks in Diamond.

Find a shade that matches Tippex, saves a fortune on hiding scratches, my old traffic car was covered in it! Sadly it comes off when power washed. (but by then the next shift was driving it  )

You could also make it Pendelican white. Although not exactly right for the year as it is a later colour, it is creamy enough to be "warmer" to the eye in comparison with Davos and Arctic, but nowhere near as creamy as OEW.
I think someone else in here has an (originally) Pendelican white car.

I think Davos white is the mutts nutts!. I prefer it to Arctic white, but don't know why. Old English white a la Jag XJ6 among others can tend to look very tired very quickly, IMHO. Davos is very fresh looking. Pilkie, step away from the old english white....!

I have decided after seeing a couple of local classics i know of close up,that old english is too creamy!
So its got to be davos or arctic, and I think arctic is the whiter white of the 2,,,davos having a slight grey hint to it.
Brip6rover has given me a code for maxmeyer paint, but does anyone else have any other paint supplier codes for rover arctic white??
Its gonna be done in 2k solid and not celly or waterbased.
Am getting the last of the panels ready to send off tomorrow,so I am going to take off the ones I will use that are still on the V8 tomorrow and replace them with crap ones.
Gonna take off towbar and de-bumper it as well.

have xzibit or westwood ever pimped a P6? Saw the one where they pimped Bez (from happy mondays) taxi cab...
