I used 90degree 22mm copper pipe joints ( the ones with solder in them, but didn't use that bit ) - they are fixed in place using black silicon sealant, the new drain tubes fit over the copper perfectly.

Are you fitting a new heater radiator - if not at the very least you should flush out with descaler

Descaler dissolves the limescale deposits inside the heater matrix, radiator or your kettle.

Nice project by the way. It looks very different with the yellow detailing on the engine parts.

ne Last week make a enginecradle, now it is easy to remove the sump.
Finished the heaterbox, complete sandblasted, new metal plate, epoxycoating and black paint.
Oh i buyed yesterday an spare p6 s without engine and gearbox the guy needed that for an kitcar.

On mine those wires run to wires of exactly the same colours running from the lumenition amp - guess you'd actually need the amp to run the engine?

Rich.

Looking good, some good photos. Well done.
The blue P6 on page 1 does look a bit dark to me to be Admiralty Blue, although it is surprising how different light conditions can change the appearance. It does look very nice though. I have just checked some photos of a P5B coupe in Admiralty blue that is for sale, and the colour varies according to the angle of the photo. The reference to Jaguar Midnight Blue might well be right, if my recollections of a 3.4 'S'-type are correct.
Whatever the colour is, I think it looks superb with the rostyles, sundym, boot spare etc. A really good specification.

Hi, i have done a little bit work last time.
Repaired the front brakes with new machined stainless pistons
And started with the front wheels.

Hello Hans,

It is all looking very spiffy... :) I like the bright colours I must say.

You separated the two halves of the front calipers. In what way do they now seal together when you rejoin them? I have never dismantled them before in that way, hence the reason I am asking.

Ron.

Hi Ron i have buyed a new gasket set, when you split the calliper you use 2 small gaskets who fitted in a hole you can see it on the picture before the last picture i send, you can also see the gaskets but the are not cutted at the picture.

Those look like dust caps to go over the bleed nipples!!

Hello Pilkie,

They sure do, in fact I would bet my bottom dollar that they are!

Hello Hans,

The seal kit that you have there is the normal caliper seal kit. Maybe the two halves of the caliper when joined form a perfect seal, by the very nature of their design. If they don't or didn't, then brake fluid is going to leak...

Ron.

It's always been said you should never split calipers for some reason

I'd heard likewise Dave but never known why. Probably due to the seal between the 2 halves when rejoining
