Engine swap!

Managed to get a Jag V12 and box out of the XJRS today
- you must have some hoist ?

I remember years ago trying to get the engine and box out of a BL Princess Wedge and the hoist was struggling with the weight and lift required

What has the seller said about the hoist?

I would send it back and get your money back.

You're certainly getting through your collection of cars at the moment eh? Is that engine going in your XJ?(One down the side?)

Rich.

Nah, I only needed the XJRS for spares for the other one in the garage. The XJ6 will keep its' 4.2 engine. No way I'd put a V12 into her. In fact, I'm thinking of ripping the fuel injection off of the remaining XJRS V12 and putting a pair of triple webers on in the future..

Just a standard Machine Mart 2ton hoist with the pin in the 1.5ton mark. Nice, cheap and good quality :)

On the hoist front I bought one second hand on the cheap on ebay. I left good feedback when i got it home and it looked ok. I've sent him an email, but i'm guessing in this case it will be a case of buyer beware...

On the car front I emailed the seller about the description and the problems i've had, and he's offered me something back as he didnt realise how bad it was. That's something at least.

Didnt know you had another XJRS in the garage. I'm glad you arent overpowering the jag. They're such well balanced cars.... I'm sorry i was a bit quiet when we came to get the engine(s). I was in a pretty bad way and ended up with the flu in bed by the time we got home from yours! You certainly have some great cars and great taste in cars too :O) Would love an xj6 or an xjs - i think they're the closest cars to the P5 & P6 conceptually. One problem at a time though is enough for me i think ;o)
