Betty Blue

Nice work!

I had the same problem with a set of carpets from Knox Auto carpets. They were for a Mazda 929/RX-4. I spent a day or two shaping and cutting them to get them to fit.

Thanks Guys,
Its been a long road, time is very limited at the moment.
After i installed everything i went over it all to check clearance and pedal pressure and found a a couple of issues, firstly the supplied bearing carrier was far to shrort, i had it replaced with a longer unit.

Secondly the clutch pedal was so hard to push it would have made it virtually impossibe to drive arround town, either in or out with zero slip. I ended up dropping a couple sizes in the master cylinder, the pedal now feels accepable.

Fuel system upgrade is next on the list of things to do, on long full throttle acceleration it would run out fuel at the carbs, I have decided to uprade the electric fuel pump to a "Facet Fuel Pump 6.5-7.5psi 45gph Red Top" and install a Holley 1-4psi fuel pressure regulator and guage.

I'm not surprised if you were fitting them to a P6.

A small but important upgrade to the cooIing sysytem.
I installed a Spal VA18-AP51-C41S 16" pusher fan and Davies Craig Digital fan controller.ling systen.

Reading PeterZRH "my cooling project" was very informative and detailed, exactly what I needed. I took a slighly different approach with regards to the fan controller.
The off the shelf fan cotroller from Davies Craig suits my needs, my S2 V8 runs a recoditioned 3 core radiator with a clutched fan and during summer the water temp does start to creep towards the red in heavy traffic.

The fan unit fits perfectly without the need for cutting the valance, but only just, with 1mm clearance.

I tested the fan just to see how nosiey it would be and suprisingly is not, ive heard alot worse. I don't expect to run very often as my engine temp sits constanstly at the start of the green zone, assuming 82 degrees, ill set the fan to come on at arround 85deg just to keep the radiator fluid in check.

A short video of the fans first test run:

Could you do me a favour?

What brand and part number are your air filters? Are you still running the standard jets/needles?

What part numbers are the larger bearing carrier and clutch cylinder/slave?

I bought this yesterday:

It's a p76 4.4 bolted to a W58 with a Dellow bellhousing. I'm selling the 4.4 with the starter and flywheel/clutch and I'll be building a 3.9 or 4.0 to go with the supra box.

I figure if I can buy up the bits that you found you needed rather than what Dellow says to use, I'll avoid some of your headaches!

How have you actually attached the fan?

The fan is fitted and works perfectly, during this summer we have had 40+ degree days and the water temp has not climbed past 82 degrees.

Just in case you haven't worked it out yet, Betty's colour is French Blue. code is on the metal plate stuck under the compliance plate.
