3500S with a difference

That is a mean looking P6 and I love it...! Nice work with the bonnet scoop, I bet it took a lot of bottle to cut the bonnet! I'm certainly going to give it a try on mine... The colour is ace and with those Minilites on it this is just P6 perfection... Well done that man...!

I've had a few SD1s and would absolutely love another EFi one.

In fact, I'd go as far as to sell the P6 to buy one, and I do like the P6 rather a lot.

Well, if you think its a mean P6, then it could be yours. I have bought something that has been on my wish list for a number of years and have to rationalise on my inventory!! I am open to offers, before I place on open market, but bear in mind this is an excellent shell, an excellent engine and has had thousands of pounds and hours thrown at it .... and obviously is quite an eyecatching motor.

I am weak however when it comes to early performance Minis.

I'd be really sorry to lose you from this forum TwinPlenum. But I do understand the atraction of performance Minis! A very long time ago I used to navigate on road rallies in a 997 and later in a full house 1340. The outstanding memory is of driving the 997 for the first time, in streaming rain, and discovering the hard way just how useless those early discs were! I finished up deliberately spinning it in order to get enough speed off! The hazards of having been brought up on P6's! I also had a freind at Uni who had a very late Mk3 S with 1293 stage 3 and 45DCOE. That was quite a motor, unfortunately he was a completely useless driver!

TwinPlenum, whatever you do, DON'T sell your Paprika P6! Sell your soul to the devil/children for medical experiements/organs for transplantation, whatever, but don't dispose of that car! In my humble opinion you've put together just about the perfect 'fast road' P6 (in considerably less time than it is taking me to realise my very similar ambition), a real eye-catcher, and surely a more satisfying car to zoom about in than even the hottest Mini, and I've hurtled around some winding country lanes in fire-breathing rally-prepped Coopers too. Please wait (but without holding your breath) until I've got my project car back on the road, I was actually really looking forward to a return trip back to my London roots and a drag race between your 3.9 TP EFi and my twist on the '3500S with a difference' theme...
Pilkie's right, you could shoehorn a V8 in a Mini, there's one on YouTube that looks really scary, great power-to-weight ratio. There's a red roof-chopped blown V8 mini panelvan out thre too...

Im not into modding Minis ... an early Cooper needs to stay as was, or else it s no longer the same thing. Tuning, yes, anything else I dont like, silly arches, aftermarket dashes, Revos ... not to my taste.

The Cooper I have bought is in a state, but original. Structurally solid, aesthetically as appealing as Vanessa Feltz under fluorescent light! I hope to tinker and have it back to the way it was bodily 42 years ago... when I find time.
