    BW35 Inhibitor switch.... simple upgrade?

Hi All So I'm fed up with low quality inhibitor switches and the faff of replacing every 6m to a year. A common fault seems to be failure of the crimped metal cylinder to grip on to the plastic top housing the spade connectors. The last 2 have fallen apart in my hands as I unscrewed them from...

    Clunk!

Hi Just took my P6B auto (BW35) - there was a noticeable clunk when I selected drive or reverse from neutral. It wasn't there on the last trip out. I haven't investigated at all yet. Is it likely to be a gearbox mount that's loose .... or something more serious? Any thoughts welcome Thanks...

Hi All My dash lights failed a few days ago. I adjusted the dimmer andvthey came back on for a few mins then failed again. This happened a couple of times and then they failed to work at all. Is this likely to be failure of the dimmer switch? If so are they available at all? Thanks Richard

    Flat spot

Hi All First of all thx to everyone who has chipped in on the 'sluggish downshift' post, I'm now convinced this was due to a throttle linkage which had over an inch of play in it. This is now fixed and kickdown works fine. Car is still hesitant pulling away from junctions. I have balanced the...

    Sluggish downshift

Hi All So I have a P6B which is becoming hesitant when pulling away. I inititially thought that it was the idle speed being too low. It was indeed too low and is now adjusted to about 650rpm.... checked with a tacho. However this hasn't really solved the problem. I now think it might be because...

    Adjust idle?

Hi all Recently my P6 3500 has started to run slowly at idle to the tent that it pauses before pulling away. Will adjusting idle speed fix this? Is there a write up of how to do this? Is it just a case of adjusting a screw on the carbs? The handbook goes on to talk about checking downshift...
