Access to inhibitor switch

Hi all

New to the forum. Have a P6 3500 with BW35. I have narrowed down a starting issue to the inhibitor switch. Now I'm struggling to see how to access and remove it. Is there a detailed procedure anywhere?

Thanks

Richard

Hi Richard, I have just done mine and is really quite easy to remove once the exhaust has been dropped from the front and from the gearbox bracket.
I did have a bit of trouble trying to adjust it for working in reverse and park etc. but have done it ok.
i pulled mine apart to tighten the plastic to the outer metal housing, but are available new from ebay, Winns?
Cheers Karl

Hi Karl

Made a phonecall to WinsLtd today looking for a new switch.... they have stopped stocking them due to poor quality. Can I ask you where you sourced a new one from?

Hi Richard, i didn't have to purchase a new one from ebay, i pulled mine apart ( not much to them inside), upon reassembly
i turned the plastic former around and pressed new notches into the metal.
Unfortunately the plastic had chipped so i had to use a hose clamp around the outside to tighten it.
This worked a treat, allows fitment, and being underneath not noticeable ( if originality is sought after)
