I reckon a bit of minor interior freshening should have it looking quite lovely. She’s set to set sail the 18th and should be on US shores on the 28th. Couple days to clear customs and then the final leg of her journey here to Ohio. Can’t wait!
Harvey is the gearbox expert around here.. he'll know what is common between the two, and how to run a car up that's been standing for a while.
If that car is as original then it will have a BW35 fitted. When left unused the converters can drain back into the box itself, artificially raising the level and causing leaks. Running the engine every week or so normally keeps things under control. Some Jags did use the BW35, and there is commonality with a lot of the internals but a Jag box won't be a straight swap into a P6B.
It looks like you've got yourself a nicely kept example of the breed. I look forward to you sharing your driving impressions once you've taken delivery of the car. Mind you don't sit on what looks like it might be a pair of spectacles on the passenger seat!
I doubt your Griff oil filters will fit, I think they'll have the same thread as the later V8s used from the SD1 onwards. Feel free to post a pic or two of your TVR! Even if isn't a "classic Rover", in my opinion they are a classic and powered by basically the same engine, albeit refined and massaged to give a fair bit more oomph. A Griffith 500 has been on my wish list since it debuted. When they were very new I heard one rumble out of a basement garage in the City of London and thunder off. It made a great sound, but was a bit too garish in a ghastly flip-flop paint.
Great fleet!
You have more Brit stuff than us Brits !
are you going to leave the car as RHD then ? I couldnt imagine driving a LHD for long around here
I see your brilliant photos , good to see but did you take your P6 out in the rain yet? Mine was a bit of a shocker the first time out in the rain (back in August last year)
