Has that been on ebay before?

Was on as a normal auction over a year ago, and has been on as a buy-it-now a few times since

He wants a lot of money for it, and in my opinion, it looks bloody awful. The front doors have just been welded, rather than lengthened so it's not a proper two-door..

Mmm. I once drove a hired Ambassador (successor with a hatchback) and the power steering had a mind of its own - put in a small steering input and then get the power system amplifying it further - had to hang on to the rim to keep it out of the hedge. Very ODD.

As a boy in the '80s I remember being greatly impressed by a wide-arched IMSA-look Princess at the Custom Car show at Alexandra Palace. Couldn't find it on the web, does anyone here remember it, and maybe even still have their old copy of Custom Car magazine with it in? Haha, I just remembered how my dear mum would remove the centre spread if it was too 'racy', didn't want be being corrupted in my tender years! The white Princess I mention had bold accent stripes on a deep front air dam, and was pushed in and out of the exhibition, either it didn't have a drivetrain or it wasn't working. Either way I thought it looked really menacing. That magenta P6 on the bay is simply awful, words fail me, if I saw it in the flesh I would probably feel nauseous. Ghastly. Each to their own, I suppose.

Wow that reminds me of a black Maxi that used to live in Morpeth it had similar body mods but had stainless steel pipes sticking out of the front possibly to replicate guns I dont know & how he ever got it through a test is anyone's guess

Tantus Pedis, that's the beast, how it went from black to white in my memory I'm afraid I can't account for, but well done for finding that anyway. When I was about 8 or 10 I thought that was the bee's knees. Wouldn't want to be seen dead in it today! Hah. Still preferable to that ghastly fuschia P6 botch-up though.

I'm going to stop my P6 restoration immediately now that I've seen this... I want one just like that... don't you?

Sorry to lose the tread, so to speak, but I had to share this beauty.

Some of those old custom cars from the 70's were absolutely awesome (I remember the Ally pally show I attended had some beautys), but a lot of them were absolute sh*t.

Oh yes 8)

Remember 'Anrdromeda' by Nick Butler? and the other T Bucket, the predecessor whose name escapes me.

There was a 302 mustang with a highly intricate paint job in blue and white depicting vampirella on the bonnet.

Custom Car mag did a very nice but short lived P5B in metallic blue.

The metallic blue P5B was by Street Machine magazine, and it was bloody awful. Horrible thing to do to a P5B, if you'd asked me then, or now. When my P6 is complete I quite fancy a stately Admiral Blue/Silver Birch P5B Coupé with Burgundy leather on Rostyles, externally immaculate, but moved by a modern 4.6 or larger lump... The perfect garage companion to an agile and feisty P6.
I think the Ally Pally show is responsible for my profound love of V8 powered cars. I remember the Easy Livin' Corvette doing burn-outs alongside the Gone In 60 Seconds Mustang Mach 1 in the Ally Pally car park afterwards, before Plod stopped the fun. I knew a couple of lunatics who had a high-rise Gasser-style Opel Manta with a supercharged Rover V8, and a mid-engined Austin J5 van with a Ford V8 out of a Starsky and Hutch Torino, who hung out in Tottenham with the LA Roadsters (London Area). No Pics of their van, only one of the Manta, check out the P6 front valance panel. The guy drove a milk van for a living, battery powered so not very fast, and drag-raced the Manta at Santa Pod on summer weekends.
