Project "Avocado" P6 2200TC

Stubborness can be a virtue. And at least a 2200 only has 4 piston's to deal with.
Anyway, although it has been done, putting a V8 in a 4 pot car involves cutting & re-shaping the inner wings, larger front calipers...etc, so it's generally easier to buy a 3500 in the first place.

Well thanks, that's a good reason for NOT doing that! It's only some friends of me who are a bit blinded by the letter "V" in enginespecs
So now I have a good argument to tell

Not being overly famialiar with the 2200's ( the only one I ever really looked at up close was in 1980 or 81) but I presume you are able to drop the sump and detach each big end and attempt to free each piston individually rather than when all collectivly connected to the crankshaft?

yes, but therefore I should have a pit or bridge.
To start with, I'm gonna try to construct something so I can bring the car up at men's middle height. About 1m heigh.
Will see if I can fix that :p

As a suggestion. You now know there is a significant problem with the engine. Why not simply put this issue to one side for now. Get on and finish the rest of the car. Once the rest is finished, you can look at your cash reserves and decide whether to rebuild the engine you have or buy a replacement. Either way this wil be a reasonably quick process, so will not act as a drag on your enthusiasm with the rest of the car looking good. 2200TC engines do come up on Ebay second hand in the UK, so I and the rest of your freinds here will keep an eye open for you. If you want to rebuild your current one then for sure there are lots of people here who can help you source everything you need from here and perhaps even sort out suitable suppliers to undertake the rebuild.

This way you do not stall yourself over something you don't feel confident with until it actually needs to be done!
