I'm in a simliar situation with the welding on my car. All I can suggest is that you carry on through it. Its pretty daunting at first, but as it gradually comes together the sense of achievement is unimaginable. I couldn't weld when I started I just picked it up and learned on the way.

One thing I thinks worth noting is that there aren't going to be any more of these cars arrive off a production line that you can just pick up. There are a finite number left on the planet. Its people like yourself attempting to restore these p6's that keep the Rover name alive; because in my opinion the p6 and to some degree the SD1 are more than just are car, they're the final chapter (worth noting) of the British Car Industry, before it became BL and before it, in turn is broken up and sold off.

Just think of all the people you meet on your travels who have some story relating to a Rover p6, whether it be a desire to have owned one, knowing someone that owned one or working on them. They're a focal point for many people.

Rant over.

Hardly a rant Fraser. :)

Very well put and my feelings exactly.

Richard

If you weren't so far away Marcus, I would pop over and help.

I can recall not so very long ago he was frightened to change a set of points isn't that right Marcus? well I'm very impressed by his progress

Regards Colin

I've got some of that  slowly getting rid of it though, I've had a local blacksmith make me a new inner D-Post for the N/S he's made a cracking job of it, wasn't cheap though
