Following the Originality / value etc. thread. This is the intended outcome of my current P6 project.
Richard, as you will see it pretty much matches what you are planning !
In terms of window seals, most modern convertibles have a cunning system of dropping the windows slightly when you open the doors and then winding them back up when you close them, so the glass can push into the seal a bit.
I was going for another convertible, and it's still part of the plan, but as with all plans. However another cunning idea I have is to split the roof roughly where the rear 1/4 glass will be, an make it into a 2 peice roof that will fit in the boot. I've measured it and in theory it will just fit if I move the fuel tank.
This would be a lot easier than making a good soft top ! Although I've got my eye on those new A4 convertibles, I've seen a few breaking and think the hood may be a close fit for the P6, this would require some fairly major rear deck reconstruction to get the hood to drop in.
