Nearly a couple of weeks ago I bought a 1973 P6 V8
10 miles into the 80 mile journey home it cut out several times. The previous owner had always run with a full tank and I had set off with it only half full.
I drained the tank and filled it again but it was still running unevenly
This was inside the carbs
I fitted this
The bottle on the right is what was going into the filter. The bottle on the left what was coming out
After 1 hour
The next day with some new fuel
l
I thought about adding another filter after the first one?
In the meantime I removed the tank. This is what comes out with out after sloshing a little fuel around.
The trouble seems the baffles (?) Are stopping the loose debris from running out. After emptying the fuel I can hear the loose stuff slide down the tank
if I can't get the loose stuff out now would it be wise to put ballast in there to clean it up?
Perhaps a vac attachment through the sender hole?
