Clutch travel on 2000

It does indeed lunge forward on the starter with the clutch pedal depressed.

In that case, either the clutch isn't clearing enough to work, or the centre plate is stuck to the flywheel.

I'm ready to take the gearbox off again, but have just had a chance comment from an experienced mechanic who thinks the clutch may just be stuck on.

It has been around 3 years since I put everything back together & they think it is quite possible :? .

Indeed it was stuck! I've just freed it off with the back end on stands, starting it in gear (2nd) & depressing the clutch pedal several times.

That saved some work!
