Hi guys. I've got a 3.9 from a range rover to replace the 3.5. Has anyone else done this? The only problem I see is the water pump is too long with the viscous damper on, but i've heard my pump will fit. Does anyone have any tips? Many thanks

I think the condenser was to blame. I changed it and it started fine. But just to throw me off the scent, the battery packed in to give the same problem. I thought I was going round the twist. New battery, condenser and it's perfect again. thanks for all the suggestions.

The tank is ok. Doesn't make any difference where the valve is. But the filter may be to blame. I've also noticed the valve in the float chamber was stuck shut but I'd think that the fuel pressure would open it when req'd. I've got a couple of rebuild kits for the carbs so i'll do it all while...
