Spotted a nice looking Red 3500 with 4 speed manual fitted. Reg WPM 65 J. Good to see one at the Retro Rides Gathering.

Indeed, that's my car :)

Not a 4 speed gearbox, but it does have a 4 speed gearknob ;)

You should have come and said hi. :D

I didn't dare do a run up the hill...

It looked very nice. I like the white roof. Looks very factory. The pop next to yours was nice also. May go back next year, but it was a fair drive.

I'm informed by my good lady wife that there's a technique to achieving that effect....

I'm not sure this is the proper place to discuss you're wife's techniques !!

I had a quick google to see what was involved, apparently it also depends on whether your camera can do the appropriate apertures etc. I do have an O level in photography, but back then we used real darkrooms, real film, and loads of nasty chemicals :D

Thanks. I did the paint myself, and obviously some panels need re-doing, but it's a learning curve

It was around 100 miles round trip for me... well worth it for a fantastic day out. :)

I can't take the credit for that, it was taken by a friend who I drove up in convoy with. I believe the effect can also be done in Photoshop after the picture has been taken. :)

I saw your car, probably when the previous owner had it, its got a holly or something similar hasn't it? If memory serves the owner emigrated to New Zealand and sold all his bits off and the car. Lived somewhere around St Albans. I saw the car when I went to fetch the Denovo's that I bought off the him. It was in need of paint then and looks better now.

That's the one :)

I never met the owner you're referring to, I got the car from the person who bought it from him - he'd owned it for less than a month. The owner you're talking about had it for quite a while, I think around 18 years from memory...
