    Rear door handle.

The rear o/s door on one of my cars has suddenly stopped opening. The button stays in when pressed. It opens fine from inside. I've sprayed WD40 on it ,to no avail. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Leaking fuel pump.

The glass bowl fuel pump on my 2200TC is leaking. I have a TFP 971244 AC pump. Can I use that to replace it or do I need to source a glass bowl one.? Or is the V8 pump interchangeable. Alternately should I go for Electric?

Starting my descent into madness with a P6

Electronic ignition. Works every time. My 2200sc was a pig to start, very often 10 minutes to fire up properly. Now I can leave it outside for six weeks without looking at it and it fires up in 10 seconds. A good cheap fix.

    Battery box bolts

My battery box is lacking the bolts/hooks that hold the lid in place. I want to make some, so can anyone tell me the correct length of each bolt and what thread to use. Thank you.

    Why flashing brake light.

Thank you. I have only recently purchased this car at auction. The previous owner said all pads had been recently changed I will investigate.

    Why flashing brake light.

    Thank you. Will investigate.

    Why flashing brake light.

Silly question. Why does the dashboard brake light flash on and off quite frequently?. The brakes work perfectly, will stop on a tanner dead straight no squeals. The fluid level is up to the mark with no leaks. Even sitting at traffic lights in gear, handbrake off the red light flashes. Raise...

Has anyone used MEV Spares in Marsden, Kent who are also on eBay as jumble master for new front Brake imperial calipers?

I purchased new front calipers and pads from MEV about a month ago and they are very good.

How much leather is needed to re-trim a pair of flat pleat front seats?

Sorry I misunderstood. I think your problem might be a bit more complicated than mine was, so will probably cost more. Best of luck.

How much leather is needed to re-trim a pair of flat pleat front seats?

I had both rear seat backs done last week. The facia's were very good but the tops were badly sun damaged. The seats are Buckskin leather but the tops ( I assume that is what you call the horseshoe) were Ambler and very badly damaged. The trimmer replaced the ambler with leather and the result...

    Boot interior

I did'nt mean it literally, I just mean it's not very big for the size of the car. If I had been buying one from new 50 years ago it would have put me off buying it. As it happens I don't have to put anything bigger than a picnic basket in it.

    Boot interior

That is very nice. I agree with you, the boot is very small, about the size of a Morris Minor. The spare on the boot lid has never impressed me either.

    Which is the correct fuel?

Thanks everyone. I have done a search and found an Esso station about 5 miles away from me, so that is where I will be filling up. I suspect that previous owners have been using E10 fuel and that is why the engine runs rough. I am fitting electronic ignition, so combined with decent fuel it...

    Which is the correct fuel?

Being a diesel driver I know nothing about ethanol. How do you tell if it contains ethanol and how does it affect the engine and it's components?

    Which is the correct fuel?

Esso is not available where I live, our Esso station closed over 25 years ago. Shell BP and Texaco plus Morrison's and Tesco. are my options.

    Which is the correct fuel?

Thank you. What sort of MPG am I likely to achieve ?

    Which is the correct fuel?

Which fuel should I use In my 2200SC. It has had an unleaded conversion. Will it run on basic unleaded or should it need the very expensive premium. At the moment it runs like a bag of nails but I am looking to get it professionally tuned in the near future.

How do I open the bootlid

Thank you. Actually by the time I'd paid the auction fee and delivery to my house it worked out to around £2.4k. So not such a bargain after all. By the way, there's nothing wrong with Jazz at all, I lost my sense of smell in 2006. Cracking prog from Ronnie Scotts on telly last week.

How do I open the bootlid

I think I did alright then to get it for £2k. I can spend some time and money on it and get a really nice usable car for £4k.
