    Steering box ball bearing grease.

Hi Al, thanks for your reply, is this Lithium grease used in conjunction with standard EP90 oil or used by itself? I've already bought the EP90 oil. My steering box had oil and grease in it when I dismantled it, white looking grease packed inside the Steering Nut where the ball bearings sit. was...

    Steering box ball bearing grease.

Hi all, I'm about to reassemble by manual steering box with my new seals and was wondering what type of grease to add to the ball bearings, the work shop manual says plenty of grease and then use EP90 oil, does it matter what type of grease to use?

Hey Ron just one more question, where did you put your violet negative wire? directly to the coil or the freed up wire that use to lead to your points?

No rev counter after lumenition installed

Hey, I couldn't find the tachometer in my Haynes manual diagram ether, I put the power module lower front left (I think I got that from you in another thread) near the gap between the body and the radiator, behind the headlight, horizontally. hopefully its not to close to the radiator, it should...

No rev counter after lumenition installed

I cant see anywhere to connect it to the distributor end, must be a different setup. One thing ide like to point out is Lumenitions instructions, quote: "Connect violet wire to the wire from which the contact breaker assembly was removed, This goes to the negative terminal of the coil, sometimes...

Hey Ron, my car has alot more pick up and im pretty stoked with that, the gear change seems smoother as well, its like a breath of life has just been added to it, now with a edelbrock setup, camshaft and magnecore wires it will be the fastest rover in town 8) one thread is saying i may have to...

One other thing to mention is that the wire that use to connect to the distributor/points is now unplugged and not connected to anything, it has a 12v current so i taped it up

    Coil for non balasted system

oh wow thats good news. I knew you'd turn up :) yes my coil is a Bosch gt40r and there is no ceramic block near the coil, i didn't realise you had to add up the values, i did use a ohm meter on the negative and positive coil points and it is 1.7 and it has 2 radio supressors or something, like 2...

    Coil for non balasted system

Hi, I have purchased a standard Lumenition ignition kit for my p6 3500 and have discovered that my coil is a low resistance Bosch coil that I can’t use with this kit, it needs to be 3.0ohm and above, all I need to do is find an appropriate coil, I have found at Aldon Auto 2 Lucas sports coils...

    Mechanical Fuel Pump ID

Interesting, this may explain why i never get the fuel problems people talk about here like going up hills in slow traffic on a hot day? its a strong pump when i pump it by hand, a good suction on my thumb, time will tell because i am going to change it to a genuine rover pump as it doesn't mate...
