Well this is weird.
Car is back together after a stripped water pump bolt. All started up fine, ran nicely so I thought I'd time it up properly rather than just guessing.
But I can't, cos the vacuum advance hits the top hose where it's on the stat housing. Eh? Can't get less advance than about 15 degrees.
So I cunningly moved all the ht leads round by one. Now its really retarded and with a sense of kinship I can't get it to turn the other way cos the electronic thingy hits the steady bar.
Now I'm sure that I put the new timing chain on right, and the things lined up and everything. But not that sure any more... Is that the only explanation for this?
Any ideas gratefully received!
