The boot area seems to be painted in some speckled effect as standard , don't know how you'd reproduce that
A good coat of Smoothrite would do the trick , applied by aerosol

I'm not too worried about it looking exactly as it did when it left the factory... I just want to get it thoroughly cleaned up and re-painted with a tough, rust inhibiting, paint...

Hi all im back again the credit crunch is a pain were i am , but im on with the BIG weld up on rosie, both sides need doing , im hoping to do it all myself never welded but here goes nothing if she dont make it then in bits she will stay

I blame Scottish Borders council for the death of my type '72 vw bus. If it wasn't for heavily oversalted roads I'm sure it wouldn't have biodegraded in front of my eyes. My P6 is getting a geneous coating of por 15 to hopefully withstand and salted surface.

That said, I'm in West Linton which is at the Border of the Borders, so SBC will probably just not bother to grit the roads here.
