Who's up for Das P6 Electric

I do like the idea of it in a P6 though. Finding room for the batteries could be a bit of challenge though....
Not really, if you think about it. Where the engine sits is all available space because the motor is going to sit at the opening of the tunnel. The removal of the fuel tank frees up all that space, too for charger, controller and extra batteries.

I would ditch the existing gearbox in favour of a light weight 2speed box and use an ac motor leaving more room and less total weight for added battery capacity

Batteries would ideally sit inside the wheelbase... otherwise the handling would be shot...

My thoughts too. Although battery weight wouldn't be as heavy as an engine. The Saab guy had a series on electrifying a FX4 taxi and he reckoned motor and batteries were about the same as the original Diesel engine.

That's awesome!

And it's tiny!

Welcome to Plasma Boy Racing, home of White Zombie, the world's quickest street legal electric door slammer in the 1/4 mile drag.

Looks to be a DC motor, not very practical in terms of long term wear and efficiency but as can be seen shed loads of power from Zero RPM

Check out the Zombie 222 electric 68 fastback mustang, it's by far my favourite so far. Insanely quick!
I would definitely build custom electric cars retaining their classic styling if I had the funds..

Most recent figures I can find for the mustang are 1.79s 0-60mph and a 9.89 quarter mile at 140mph
