Having spent 23 years in the armed forces it's nowhere near that. Besides, that money has been spent over the last 10 or so years and the money all comes from the defence budget anyway which is allocated for just such an event as we are fighting in Afghanistan. Now bankers bonuses over the last one year must be close to your figure and everything else pales into insignificance in the face of that.

You can put Scotland up for sale on e-bay after you have handed all that North Sea oil back
Mind you if we go down that route, I would have to hand my P6 back before we sealed the border! No chance - long live the Union
Anyway, we could save money by cutting the number of MPs and other politicians by 50%, rasing their retirement age....... oh and scrapping their final salary pension scheme.

"The cost to British taxpayers of fighting, diplomacy and reconstruction in Afghanistan and Iraq since the 9/11 attacks passed £20 billion, official figures reveal. "
"This includes £18 billion for military operations, on top of the normal defence budget, as well as hundreds of millions of pounds on aid and security for UK officials."
