Straight looking Tax Exempt Auto

Quite a nice looking Lunar Grey 72 Auto with PAS on Ebay, which warrants a proper dose of looking at.

Could be a good car, although it always makes me suspicious when someone can't make it through an ebay listing without a barrage of spelling errors. The 'Fortune Spent' all seems to be general repair items rather than any real restoration and improvement, but no matter. I do wonder if the caravan in the background is a hobby.... or a home.

Are new servos usually black?

I would want mine yellow pasivated as per original.

Look at the handbrake to see how well that was done.....

Wait... You mean it's not meant to point towards the roof?

And I agree about that brake servo Richard, I reckon it has the definite look of a slap of paint over some crustiness.

Viagra in the handbrake, not a good sign. I can just feel that iffy brake pedal now.........

I don't remember Lunar Grey being available that early either, ISTR it came in a bit later than anything that would be tax exempt, although I'm sure that the number crunchers will set me straight if my memory has failed me. :?

Lunar Grey was new in October 1972 for the 1973 model year. You CAN get a tax free Lunar Grey car, but there aren't many (we broke a 2000TC last year that fell into that bracket, they are out there).

Cheers
