Steel sunroof on eBay?

I wonder, was the steel sunroof a factory option, or is it a modification of a later day? I seem to remember a story from Practical Classics where a 3500s had a steel sunroof from a Saab 900 or 99 fitted. They had about the correct roof profile. Tricky welding job to avoid distortion I would think.
regards, Barten

Hurry though, it ends tomorrow.
My mate was the winning bidder
Whatever the condition, he got a bargain.
Can you encourage him to join the forum and tell us all about it?
I will do but he is more of a P5/Land Rover person and a very busy chap :? I did point out to him that the car looks like it has a steel sunroof and what looks like a boot mounted spare :) I must add this was after he told me had bought the car  so he may get his money back after selling the parts off it

I'd love to be able to get a P6 with a steel sunroof, that'd be superb...!!!

Do they rob the cabin of any headroom though?! Things in a P6 are pretty tight already but if a sunroof was added could it 'stifle' things further perhaps?!

I can only imagine how much it would have cost to fit one of these when the P6 was new?! I imagine this wasn't a dealer fit option and you'd have to go to an apointed specialist converter...?!
