used to buy hotrod and custom car magazine back in the 70's with my paper round money, full of frenched in lights , model t to b ford hotrods, side exhaust pipes , furry interiors with chain link chrome steering wheels etc , it would be nice to see some of this stuff again, anyone know of any nostalgia custom websites, rich

There is a local mob here called 'Steel City Cruisers'. I don't think they have a web site as such but if you google them, there are a lot of hot rods linked to them.

I took Sparky to their 09 cruise as they had a classic car section there.

Then there is this lot

I must say I was always a "Street Machine" reader, mostly late 80's through the 90's, so I'm into lowering, shaving etc, pastle colours were big back then, hence the colour of my old convertible.

Custom car is ok, it's pretty thin these days, http://www.customcarmag.co.uk/

The current trends seem to be steel bodies (rather than the fibreglass replicas we used to see all the time in the 90's), retro-rods, and rat-look. I'm in two minds over the rat-look, some just look like they couldn't be bothered to sort the bodywork, some are very expensive "fake" rat's

I'm quite partial to the 'rat look'. When I had my Cortina I ran with it in Primer (and rust spots) for about a year, then matt blacked it :D . I miss that car:
