This is a matter of curiosity more that anything else, and I'll bet that Harvey can answer it.
The speedo gear on the output shaft of my BW35 box is a slip fit. Nothing appears to hold it in place save the surface tension of the lube. How come? I notice that my speedo is kinda bouncy, though that could be in the cable or the meter itself.
I am tempted to slather some of that Loctite bearing anchor stuff on the shaft to nail the gear down, but can be dissuaded by good advice.
