I like where you are going with this idea. Modern innards in an old body.
Keep us posted on how and what you used.

sounds good if it works. do keep us all up to date how .parts etc please. have u tried e bay ? or local market place ?
Yeah ebay £59 not working and had one hand ...lol ..... F/B £40 perfect working order so totally ignored the advert the guy had zero profile so i blanked it as it seemed a scammer to me .

I'm interested as long as i don't have donate me testicles to medical science to pay for it .

I started looking at grafting on the original clock face and hand to a generic clock mechanism. You will need a mini lathe to accurately turn or remake the shafts in nylon for good results.

But it is a fantastic idea. I have a radio control signal version so the clock will never be wrong - unlike the original which is never right.

If someone can do it, then selling it as kit would be a nice idea.

got my first one working when I desoldered the very thin coil wire joint . after a few years it started to lose time ..tried adjusting with the small screw but made no difference so bought replacement (used) this one works and only loses few minutes a day :) so set correct before leaving or even few mins advance and most of day its good :) ideally a modern inner works using old front and hands would be better but not seen any conversions ..yet.

A quick and dirty way is two teaspoons, a version of a clockmakers tool. Lever them off with the spoons 180 degrees from each other.
