Sealed beam unit.

I need some info, again,PLEASE, I need a N/S SEALED BEAM headlamp ( DIP )for an 1972 P6, I just had a phone call from the Test Station to tell me that the car has failed on that one item, quite chuffed about that !! What I need to know is, are all the lamps the same for that year, I think they are 7", but when I phoned City Electrics in Swansea, they ask more questions than Mastermind!! Any info will help, well. I hope it will. Cheers.

It's just a standard 5&3/4" main/dip sealed beam unit, (Twin filament with 3 male lucar connections on the back.) as fitted to all sorts of cars of the same era.

Only difference could be if it has had a Halogen conversion done on it in the past.

What I thought was going to be an easy solution, wasn't!!!! I have failed to source a N/S sealed beam unit, I've sent off a couple of emails, but no answer as yet. Anyone know of a supplier? Thank you.

Talking of headlamps, I got a deal on some assorted lamps the other day & one of them is a standard 7" sealed unit but main beam only. Can anyone think of a vehicle that had twin 7" units? I can't think of any cars with that set-up. A lorry maybe?

Were they 7's? Must be more than I thought. As it happens I can picture a lorry or two with them though I don't know what make. Just googled & the Zodiac 3 had them too. I'll have to get a car to go with the headlamp now. :wink:
