SC & V8 wheel rims

Hi,

I have a collection of wheels and tyres, some of a SII 2000 and some of an SII V8.

Are these the same size? If not, what size is which??
They all have 185 tyres on and are the samerolling radius (I think)

So are they actually the same or if there's a difference, what is it?

The width is different.

There should be a stamp on them somewhere which reads 5 1/2 J 14 or similar.

The 2000 ones are 5J and the V8 ones are 5 1/2

I could be wrong, but I think that is the size.

You're not wrong! 4 cyl rims are 5" wide and the V8s are 5.5". They also have a different design around the centre. The V8 wheels have one smooth raised bump outside the wheelnuts while the 4 cyl rims have a double bump. (if you know what I mean :) ) 185 tyres are specced for the V8 but they will fit on the 4 cyl rims.

So, in that case, is the boot mount boss & cover different for v8 cars as opposed to 4 pots?
I will be going for the wider wheels on both the car and the boot - assuming the boot mounting fits....

The covers for the spare on the boot are different, but as far as the rest of the boot kit it's all the same, but fitting V8 wheels to a 4 pot you should change the front hubs and the rear toplinks as they are both different to accomodate the extra rim width.
