Rover 75 2.0 V6 Club SE REDUCED

I've decided that I'm going to revert to using the 2000 on a daily basis once the clocks change, so at the end of March, I'll start the process of selling the 75. It's been very well looked after, and is a fantastic car to drive. It's been completely reliable while I've owned it, and it's now done 83000 miles. It's been recently serviced, has had the belt change done, it's got tyres with plenty of tread, a full service history from new, it's taxed until the end of August this year, and MOT'd until the middle of September. It's always kept as clean as possible, and makes for a superb family car, or even just something for commuting. In terms of MPG, it consistently achieves 30 mpg-35 mpg, depending on the type of driving, and the driving style.
Being a Club SE it's got anything that I've needed, including climate control and a CD autochanger. I'm a 75 club member, and the car has attended an owners' club meet in the last few months. The colour is Royal Blue, and it's got Ash Grey velour seats, which are very comfortable indeed! Although registered in late September 2002, it's actually got the vast majority of the 'pre-project drive' bits that 75 owners seem to like, such as a real wood dashboard.
I'll definitely miss it, but running three cars isn't sustainable in the long term, and I'd like to be able to spend my time on the other two Rovers instead.
Whoever buys it will not be disappointed. I want to keep it until the end of March, but thereafter, it's available to drive away. I just thought I'd offer it on here first. If anyone would like any more information, please PM me.
Here are a couple of photos.

I'm looking for £1350, but obviously that's negotiable.

Re: Rover 75 2.0 V6 Club SE

Hello FrazzleTC
I want to pick your brains
Im thinking of buying into a 75 .
The 75 down here in our neck of the woods are exceptionally cheaper than anywhere else c/f OZ or the motherland , and look great value for money for a goodun.
Ive heard horror stories regarding reliability and/or the maintenance of the petrol engine in these .So was looking at the BMW powered diesel version .
As youre a club member has the topic come up re the diesel , anything to watch out for ?
trust you get a good owner for what appears to be a Very lovli Mota Guv
regards
Gerald

That's a cracking looking car Frazzle. I might be tempted to do a full resto on Verity with a car like that to run around in

The 1.8s are the only ones that I'd steer clear of. V6s are generally no worse than any other modern cars, with the exception of the expensive cambelt change, which has been done to this one anyway. People seem to tar all petrol 75s with the same brush, without really understanding the difference between the V6s and 1.8s, I think.

Re: Rover 75 2.0 V6 Club SE

I had no reliability problems with mine which i had for a year or so (2.5 kv6 auto)

I love my diesel. Picked up a 2004 MG ZT-T over a year ago, and it's a great car. I will probably look at having it chipped though, as apparently Rover were required to drop the amount of power back as part of the agreement with BMW.

Just a quick note to say that it's now available to go at any time. Mileage is now 83500 and no problems to report! :D
£1500 ONO
Here are a couple of recent photos of the car from a trip to St Andrews last week.

It's had six new sparkplugs fitted, at a cost of £120. I've now bought a Mazda MX-5 as a modern for the summer, so the 75 needs to go. Make me an offer.

Oh blimey! I do like them & I'm still tempted but really can't justify it & my partner says they're a grandads car so doesn't want one as her steed. Her little Pug 206 is pretty frugal with the juice & I'm loath to give that up the way things are with dosh & the price of fuel. What do you get to the gallon from it?

they're a grandads car

this opinion always irritates me... what makes a car thats comfortable and a pleasant place to be a grandad's car? i really dont 'get it'

or maybe i'm just a grandad at the age of 35 :D

I know it gets a bad rap but you'll get the right money on eBay! Auction with a reserve to stop it going silly low. I've bought and sold lots of cars on eBay. Only bad experience was pae and arguably that was my own fault for being impetuous.

Rockdemon, you and me both, I'm only 33 and bought my 75 when I was 27! They're a fabulous car. Mines a 1.8 2001 tourer. I bought it with 18,000 miles and its up to 149,000 now. If fastidiously maintained, the 1.8s arent all that bad. I had mine LPG converted at 62,000 and I get 490 miles from it for around £55. Its still in great shape and aside fom the servicing, tyres and a head gasket, its only ever had 1 (yes only 1!) set of brake pads, a pair of rear discs (replaced due to corrosion, the fronts are original) and thats it! I even got 10 years out of the original battery! Some say "don't change the cambelt on a K series, just wait for the head gasket to go and do it then" but I wouldn't advise this! I have no plans to change it as I enjoy the comfort on my commute and it takes lots of gear in the back for my annual trip to France.
