RICHARD TAYLOR - Our Webmaster & Benefactor

Richard,

Hope you'll soon be feeling fine
The way you were before
Because things just won't be the same
Until you're well once more :)

Hope you knock it for six soon Richard.

I've only been away from the forum for a few weeks and this happens! I promise I won't leave it again no matter how busy I am.

I had a phone call from Richard earlier Monday.
We chewed the fat while he was waiting for Jo to arrive....

He is doing well although has had a scare or two along the way with infections.
He also had a nice episode when he turned pink from a reaction to some antibiotics,
I wish I had a picture of that to post on here.....

Hopefully they might let him out in a couple of weeks for a few days at home...
...wonder if he fancies doing some work on my cars! :D

Richard must be feeling better (not well) as he told me he is looking for a nice VW camper....

If you have not sent him a card yet take time out to send one
the address is in the first post, I am as guilty as the rest of you on this as I havn't sent one either....

Still no visitors apart from wifey (Joanne) etc but hopefully this might change
probably in a week or so as his blood counts are doing well so less chance of catching something
from all us dirty buggers covered in engine oil etc!

Hi everybody, thanks to Pete for the update.
I'm coming on leaps and bounds and the moment, even managed a mile on the exercise bike this morning !

I really hoping I can get to go home for a few days next week, fingers crossed.

In the meen time here's a pic of me enjoying the forum !!

I have what looks like a tan, but is in fact an all-over drug reaction, still saves going out in the sun !, my feet are currently like something off Shrek, but hopefully the cycling will get the fluid moving.

Got a 50cc motorbike engine somewhere....

Want me to drop it off for the exercise bike?
...or does that defeat the object????

Good to see you getting better Richard...keep your chin up!

Exercise bike eh? Now I'm feeling guilty!

After 4 weeks in bed I'm feeling pretty weedy !
Managed to get outside yesterday, fantastic sat under a tree just watching the cars in-out of the carpark :D

Enjoy the good weather (winter here in NZ) and have a good recovery.

Graeme

Well guys, I'm actually at home and have enjoyed some delicious home cooked meals for the first time in a month !

Once my bloods started to recover I was amazed at how quickly they got into "normal" range, albeit at the bottom of normal. Anyway, once you get into this range they like to send you home, try and get some normallity before going back for the next round of Chemo.

I've lost around 1 1/2 stone in a month, mostly appears to be muscle wastage, and I am currently struggling to get upstairs, not helped by having quite a bit of fluid in my legs and feet (a good excuse to get my feet up on the sofa !)

But it's so good to be home, my bed is so much more comfortable than the hospital bed.

I've got around 10 days, and then it's back to do it all again, hopefully the next round will be easier due to starting from a "well" state, rather than being quite ill as I was for the first one. Fingers crossed anyway.

Many thanks for all you kind words, I've been overwhelmed by the level of support I've had from family and friends, it's so encouraging to know people care. :D

Woo Hoo! Well Done Richard, Great you're now at home.

Mind you, I've been suffering from muscle wastage for some time now, but my weight seems to be going up! (Janie has just told me I'm getting fat that's all!)

Seriously though, all the best - our thoughts and best wishes are with you all the way.

Bri.
