I have been discussing a lot lately with my friend who is assisting me with the restoration of my P6 V8 as to what we should do in the way paint finish.
I have decided that I am going to install a Red interior for certain and I would definately like a boot mounted spare. So, im just throwing some ideas around atm for the paint finish...
Option 1)
Bodyearlescent Red paintwork
Roof + D posts: painted in pearlescent black. retain existing tilt 'n slide sunroof.
Spare wheel cover: black vynal
Sills: pearescent black.
Wheels: SD1 VDP. Pollished rims with anthracite centres. Centre badge to have the rover shield painted in correct colours.
Interior: Red ambla/leather.
Option 2:
Body: Gloss black with 5 or 6 layers of clearcoat for deep finish
Roof + D posts: Get new solid roof to replace original roof with sunroof. Cover new roof and D posts in blood red vynal.
Spare wheel cover: red vynal
Sills: gloss black same as body.
Wheels: SD1 VDP. Pollished rims with anthracite centres. Centre badge to have the rover shield painted in correct colours.
Interior: Red ambla/leather.
What ever I do, it has to be better than almond!
