Removing front door glass

Hi, I'm getting the drivers door repaired and repainted and am stripping it down. How do I remove the side window glass as I need to get to the bolts securing the handle and lock to remove them for the work and cant get at them with the glass in situ. Thanks.

You don't need to remove the glass to get the locks and handle out. If you do you must be doing something wrong. Removing the glass invlolves lifting out the doorframe. Removing that may be a good idea anyway if the door shell is being repaired and painted but it's not necessary just to get the locks and handle out.

Thanks Harvey but I don't know if I'm being thick or something but either with the glass up or down it still covers access to the bolt heads for the handles? Am I doing something wrong?

I wound the windows fully up, then after removing the door cards, found that I can get to the handle bolts with a 1/4" drive socket with an extension bar and screwdriver drive.
