I am sure that I hit the 1,000 post a little while ago, now it says I have made 762? Possibly 763 with this one

What has happened?

Hello Richard,

You had indeed, and so had I. The last time I noticed which was a day or so ago, we were both around the 1160 mark. Something has obviously gone wrong with the forum software... :(

Hope it gets corrected.

Something certainly seems to be not right, I have also noticed it has become very slow navigating to some parts of the forum but in an inconsistant manner, was blaming my computer but all the other website I visit are not having this trouble.

Not to mention post number totals, but I see my total of several hundred now says I have only 1 :LOL:

Just done the enquiry for mine and it says 1051, so obviously isn't fazed by going over 1000.

I'll pm Richard and see how well he's feeling for a bit of investigative.

Hmm.. I'm showing 86 posts.. that's down by a few hundred!!
 
Mine says '2' so I'm guessing the Forum is not counting those of a low standard or completely pointless :D
 
My profile says I've made 1 post in total but 67 in the Lounge.

Guess I'm just a lazy bugger!

Hi guys I was trying to fix an issue with a reported topic, so, I ran a few re-calculate routines yesterday, which will have re-counted all your posts and in theory will now be more accurate.

I haven't removed / archived any posts, however I know some posts have been removed by moderators, but not many.

I also cleared down the cache, which may explain the slowness, as the system holds regular lookups in memory and these will have been reset.
However one thing to note, the system is generally slow around 9-10am (uk) due to another process that runs on the server.

Hope that clears a few things up.
 
Hmm, obviously some of these counts didn't add up so I ran the post-recount again, and it crashed... looks like it took too long. I'll keep trying but it looks like it's only counting so far then giving up, hence the lower figures.
