The world is an amazing place! What I mean is that I live in the state of Ohio, United States. The general rule here, other than in highly built up urban areas, where emissions checks are necessary, and any P6 would be exempt due to age anyway, if it has all the lights working, drives down the road, and can stop, you simply go down to the local DMV once a year, pay about 30 pounds, get your license plates, see your insurance agent, again once a year, pay him about 130 pounds, and you are free to motor around in any and all the forty eight connected states to your hearts content! You can also pass through Canada on your way to Alaska, free of charge, inspection, and any sort of harassment. You are expected to provide a reasonably safe and worthy transport for yourself should you choose to drive, and you are left alone. I must say, I do love it here! Too much government interference in many other places, in my humble opinion. The only problem I have is that P6's are so rare here that spares are difficult to find!

In reality it's not much different over here. If your car is in reasonably safe condition, it'll pass an MOT Test. With appropriate insurance, you are free to drive it anywhere abroad.
