P6: Inner Roof skin - how to replace?

I had bought a roof with an integrated Webasto(? perhaps another brand?)-Sunroof. Before the roof was mounted the old one has to be removed. Because I was not able to do that by myself, I went to a Workshop. In this Workshop first of all the old roof was removed by an employee. The softtop in the "new" roof was white (my car is green) so the vinyl has to be changed, too. So the softtop was dismounted, the Roof was painted and also mounted. The wooden frame was not in a good condition, it has to be changed or to be refurbished. This was the status at the end of June. After that I took the wooden frame to a carpenter; he did a really, really good job. The wooden frame is now better than new. Due to the summer time, the Master in the Workshop asked me for parking the car in my garage because of a lot of reasons. They would call me if they are ready to continue the work.

From time to time I called and asked and they told me that unfortunately now the upholsterer is not ready. And so when the November started and I rang again I got "Green light"to bring my car into the Workshop again. And now, two weeks later, I have a huge problem.

The employee which has dismounted the old Roof is now retired. Nobody knows Details about the metal frame, which has to be mounted for the inner Roof Skin. There is also no documentation about the process he had done to remove the roof. And so the upholsterer has now the problem because he don't know how the inner skin has to be mounted.

So the question is: has anybody a plan or Pictures exactly about this special situation? I need each information in this direction (about steps, parts, etc.).

Thanks in advance and all the best!

I currently have both a sunroof and non sunroof inner lining off the car. Unfortunately I have neither a working camera nor mobile phone. i am happy for someone living in the vicinity of Sydney (I'm in lower north shore) to come over and take pictures. The sunroof is the steel sheet type, is yours the folding material type?

You need the factory manual to get the standard liner in and out. It isn't impossible just a real PITA. It comes in and out through the front door opening, you need to lay the seats back, helps to remove the rear lower squabs, and you need full front door opening. Plus there are at least two screws above the BC pillar (possibly three), one is buried high up under the edge lining bar, invisible to the naked eye.

Oh and I've modified the sunroof one to take a standard "middle of the roof" interior light without affecting the look or operation.

Thank you for your Information and yes, I have the made from foldable material. I will take a look in the book but I am quite sure, that there in the Workshop Manual is no Explanation to the Roof interior.

What I need is help! Now, the roof has been renewed and built-in but the handle has been missed after restoration. Now I have it and I built it in also but there is a part missing now. I would say it like a socket between the handle and the roof - as you can see on the picture. Is there anybody who has such a roof in his car? So I would need more detailed pictures of the part as well as the dimensions. Than I have perhaps a chance to rebuild the part...
