p5b Door mirror project

I came up with a solution that had been bugging me for ages, p5b door mirrors don't do much for the visual appearance and break up the lines of the design I think so thought I'd have a go at sorting this issue for my personal taste.
Hope you like it, didn't cost too much either total of £20

That new doohickey, the one supported by your thumb in pic 2, did you cast it, cut it, 3D print it...?

Please excuse the silly question, it's just that I know practically nothing about making things out of metal.

It looks like it's done the old fashioned way.
Solid bar, hacksaw, file, emery cloth and lots of sweat.
Nice job, too!!
Yes that's how I did it, hard graft and a big dreadnaught file. it took all day to make two and cost £4 for the material.I took the car out for a spin and all is well.

It looks like aluminium, plus stainless takes so much longer to form and finish by hand.
I don't think it would be worth the extra effort just for the increased corrosion resistance..
