Other Classics in the family

Excellent picture, except in the 60's, Poundland (in the background) would be an expensive place to shop.

Never mind, I took the liberty and did it.

2000 miles a month in a Morris Minor ? Must be out every other weekend giving the grease nipples a going over !

He is too, and the handbrake cable, I helped him once but I am not really interested in them and got plenty of my own car troubles to deal with. He had to get a Bus heater to keep his toes falling off and took the seatbelts out to accomodate a large friend of his.

I did cut the poundland out in some of the photos I was playing around with. Got to love technology.

Another quick update on my boys minor, having flushed off the back end he has turned his attention to the front, mainly the front panel. He has extended it out sideways using a section off another front panel then fabricated the curve at the end. He has done it so the whole front panel still comes away in one piece seperate to the front wings. Bolts on as normal with a few more bolts on the extended lengths. He has also added a bracket inside to hold some small modern spots that will pier through the small holes at the side. They are very discreat and like crystal balls so when fitted will be hardly noticeable unless on of course.... A couple of pics :)

You can pass on that I'm very impressed with that. Toughens the whole front look up. And a neat, and none too easy, bit of work.

Nice Beetle, I have always wanted one, and went to buy a low mileage one before I got the Rover, I couldn't get my legs comfortable behind the wheel and getting in and out was a mission as well, I'm 6'5". My little face was a picture of disappointment for weeks after.

Been a couple of months since I updated my boys moggy project. He has been bizzy and finished all the welding, stripped it bare, etch primered followed by high build then left it for a month before flatting for its new paint. I apollogise for lack of pics at this point, I do know that he has taken a number of them at different stages for his record of the project. He has now painted the shell the roof in gloss black and the body in Olympic blue ( very topical at the mo lol ) which he completed last night at 23.30 the following pics I took this morning after he fitted the rear exhaust pipes..

Looking good, I like the colour scheme.

I'll let him know of your approval TRM, my first reaction was that it was to contrasting but I'll make my final judgement once he has painted the bonnet, boot lid, doors and front panel and its all fitted. He is debating to tint the windows too, either medium or light smoked and the alloys I believe are going graphite....

That looks wonderfull! I really like that colour scheme. In particular I like the way those alloys absolutely kiss the wings. A millimetre wider and they'd have needed wing extensions. A millimetre less and they'd have been shrouded. Anthracite is a good plan too.

I agree too - black as the ace of spades up top and then lots of bling below to set off the blue. Perhaps a polished alloy rim to the wheels? Centres only in Anthracite?
