A couple of times over the last few weeks as I have been lying under my TC measuring for patches and stuff I have had a dig at the bitumastic in various places with an old screwdriver. Its quite therapeutic( is that spelling correct?) actually , what I have found is quiet good but there are areas of surface rust and I am sure there will be a shock or two along the way. I have some questions.
ONE......I have bought some Epoxy121 to treat the underneath, wheel arches etc The rust would surely need to be treated with perhaps Kurust and then primer before applying the epoxy, however I understand that the epoxy should be used on bare metal only. What is the best method ? ......advise please
TWO..... As it is my intention to remove the outer sills to check for rust on a regular basis I would like to keep the sill area free of epoxy, and prime and paint the area only. Is this a good Idea, and if so, what type of paint should I use...... advise again please
