Monza red 3500S

It's flame red actually... ;-)

I've been debating for a while to be honest, Jinx's antics with the inner sills and bonnet failure have left a sizeable dent in my finances. I'm a bit fed up of scrimping month to month. I've had a bit of interest, but no takers yet... we'll see. Whoever turns up with the cash is getting a pretty good deal considering the base unit is now tip top too. Maybe I'm having second thoughts. :?

If you're firm about the price and nobody goes for it, they're missing out Adam.
And then you'll just have to admit it's fate you're never meant to part ways

Now that is a beautiful car, easily worth the money. If my money was not required at the moment to buy a business, I would definitely be interested. It might even stop my TVR cravings! All I can say is good luck, although I don't think you will need it as it's a beaut!

Thought I recognised the car Adam, I had a little chat with you at Ragley Hall a couple of years back. Lovely motor, I wish I was in a better position to do something about it (don't we all!) but I'd have to sell my 3500 first... always fancied an early S.

Good luck

Thanks guys, I'm taking it as fate as to what happens...

There will be a clause in the sale that means whoever buys it has to;

a) Keep up the thread on here.
b) Give me first refusal if they want to sell it again (after all, it's not like a girlfriend who won't take you back is it? ).

Had a few emails about it, and a guy turned up yesterday to look, said he liked it, we agreed a price... then he scuttled off saying he had to check with his wife and he'd ring back. That'll be the last I hear of him  .

This might sound fluky but I'm sure I owned that car around 1988/90. It is the same spec/colour and as soon as I saw the number plate my stomach turned. I will have to see if I have any old photographs to confirm the reg. "860" does sound very, very familiar to me. The rest of the plate is definitely the same.

I bought it off a chap who had just retired and was giving up driving. This was in Slough. Other than a bit of light rust around the OSF indicator, the car was in lovely condition. I did my courting in it and showing my (now) wife the pictures, well lets just say it brought back happy memories.

The worst case would be that both the cars originally came from the same dealer who issued a series of consecutive numbers. Anyway, lovely car and if my circumstances were different, budget wise, I'd snap it up straight away.

Jinx has now gone to a new owner in Beeston, Notts called Jim!

It was quite emotional watching it drive away this morning.

Dont know what to say Adam, it is a shame after all you went through, but I suppose needs must. Did you mention to him about the forum, would be a way to keep up to date with Jinx.

I reckon it'll be even worse seeing it driving round town, you'll have to stay in. Get the cash in the bank!

The new owner couldn't have wished for a nicer day to collect it than yesterday though.

Blast! I spend a week away and miss an obviously-loved 3500!

Hope it went to a good home & they join the forum. I'll continue my search (auto if poss for SD1 conversion)...
