Just in case I may have given the wrong impression let me clarify, Geoff is not, to my knowledge going to cease trading, he has been trying to sell his business, as a going concern, for some time and despite some enquiries, as far as I know has been unsuccessful in doing so.
If he should manage to get a sale then Winns would continue, albeit under new ownership and possibly a new name.
Should he not achieve a sale then Winns would also continue but my understanding is not as an investing, expanding business (as my perception MGBD is) but as a downsizing contracting business selling many of the parts we would still all need but not investing in new lines and new tooling. The effect of this on our future parts supply is open to speculation and it could be many years before we notice but I think we'd all agree it is not a good thing.
It only takes a couple of key components to go NLS to affect us all.
Regards
Alan
