Hello Richard,

Happy New Year!!

Now I am having problems over at the P6 forum. I cannot log in.. :? and I cannot let the webmaster know of my problem because I am not logged in!!

I log in, and then the next page opens telling me I have logged in successfully, and then when the main page reopens I am logged out

I log in again and it repeats., although at the bottom of the main page I am shown to be logged in but at the top right it says I am logged out!!

Can you please help,...let the Webmaster know so he can rectify the situation.

Thanking you in advance,
Much appreciated Richard,
Ron.

Same here LOL

I have managed to log in now using Firefox and not AOL, so I will put your message on the forum and email Richard Taylor

Happy new year over there :)

If you log in using the Log In at THE BOTTOM OF THE MAIN PAGE it seems to 'cure' this for the meantime.

Tried this on IE8, Firefox, Chrome & AOL and I stay logged in.

I may be wrong but seems to be a problem with using the Link from P6ROC site to log in.

Took me a while to work it out,but got there in the end!
You can still use the old p6roc web site address for links but you cannot access it via the new forum, nor can you access the new forum from it.
Wonder when the header on the new forum will change to classicroverforum!!

Ah - so the separation has started.......

Richard - you also need to make sure that the forum is found via Google, I think at the moment on the P6 Clubs are serviced by Google, which of course was not a problem in 2009.

If you google "The classicroverforum" and not,"the classic rover forum" it will find it at, http://www.roverp6forum.co.uk
Still could confuse those searching as the header still states p6roc!!
But as its a work in progress we can all live with it for a while! :)

Richard was kidnapped by his wife today to rewire the bathroom....
.....this will continue tomorrow as bad light stopped play. :(

Hopefully the Forum headers etc will change by Monday....

I am very happy to say that my logging in problem has been sorted... :D

Sincere thanks to Richard, Harvey and Mike.

Ron.

Very sorry for my absence guys, as stated by Pete, I've been locked in a cold bathroom with instructions to stay there until it is finished.....

As stated, the forum has been effectively "moved" to www.classicroverforum.com and has been modified to use this as it's main address, this is why the "cookies" for the old P6ROC address don't work and you need to re-login. The old P6ROC address still works, but there was a problem as it let you stay on the P6ROC address when it should have forwarded you to the classicroverforum address, but only if you went directly to the www.p6roc.co.uk/forum/phpbb3 address.

Sounds complicated, but I've tweaked it a bit more now and even when coming in on the direct address, it should take you to the new classicroverforum.com address.

You will need to re-login, but once this is done and you tick the "keep me logged in" option, it should work correctly again.

Please let me know if you have further problems, anybody that can't login can email at webmaster@p6roc.com (for now).

Quick one for Rick.

I am still getting the old P6ROC logo's at the top of the forum when coming in through P6ROC site and relogging in as above.

Do I have to clear cache etc as you have named new headers same as old?
Or haven't you implemented that bit yet?

PS - Found your friend....

OOERR! weird, must be in your cache /board cookies etc!!

Sorted

It was the cache

Richard must have named the new headers etc the same as old to save work and re-write of code.

Hence my machine thinks I already have the piccies.

Anyone in same boat clear the cache and you will see the new headers.

Yes, bloody browser caching will be the issue, just hit Ctrl and F5, should reload all elements and bring up the new images. You may want to adjust your caching settings to check for new versions "every visit to the page" (that's for IE).

Today I'm getting the new Classic Rover logo but I keep having to log-in again mid session
I don't seem to be able to stay logged in from one day to the next either
Teething troubles I assume ?
