I've seen less perforations in a box of teabags

This is the next area of attack in my build a brand new base unit project

Imagine my delight when I uncovered this

A boot floor like this could bring a whole new meaning to lost luggage

Oh well, never mind! The rear arches are pretty typical.. that boot floor looks like an opportunity to lower the new floor and pop an LPG tank into the well...

Thats the sort of condition my old convertible was in before we made it a convertible, nice big sheet of steel rolled round a pipe made a new boot floor... Followed by numerous patches elsewhere...

I always find it strange with P6's that with all the rot there in those pics, the rear suspension toplink mounts look solid and rustfree, yet another car which is virtually solid everwhere else has the toplinks rusted out. That boot floor has gone because it's been left with water sitting there.

Lools like some funtimes coming up with the MIG then!

I quite agree Harvey all that rot I chopped out of the O/S sill area & yet the N/S is clean as a whistle under the back seat & along the sill edge of the floor is only a bit crunchy in places & yet normally the N/S goes before the O/S :? the inner wings on my first P6 fell to bits when I took the wings off yet the sills only needed a small repair at one end.

I spotted the boot floor problem when soon after I got the car a pool appeared in the boot & when I lifted the mat to pull the grommets out I noticed it had been stuffed with fibreglass  but you couldn't tell from underneath :x

Luckily thanks to this forum I have a good floor to weld in on it's way

Here's a few shots of my boot floor replacement project
