I'm Mobile Again !

Well, since I've finished my treatment and (fingers crossed) won't be going back to hospital anytime soon, I decided I'd get my 820 back on the road so I could potter about a bit.

It's been laid up for about 4 months, mot and tax ran out in june, and I didn't bother renewing the insurance. It's been started occasionally when I've been at home, and my brother gave it the odd wash to reduce the build up of bird poo.

In my limited state I gave it the once over, checked bulbs, tyres, wipers etc, sorted the insurance, and took it for an MOT today, passed straight through !

Just bought a tax disc online, so I'm mobile again, and my 820 lives for another year. Now if only I could get the P6 sorted that easily....

Glad to hear your feeling much better now and getting out and about :D

Maybe you should bring the p6 into the house so you can work on it in comfort :p

Best wishes for getting back to 100% soon as possible :D

Good news Richard!!
Hope you can make it to Rugeley for the national rally???
Think I speak for all of us,to say, it would be great to see you!!
I am sure you can find lots of little jobs to do on the P6 that you can potter with! :)

That would be brilliant if you could make it in one way or another!

Good to hear you're back on the road Rich.

Cheers

Well done Richard! Must feel great to be behind the wheel again!

Cheers,

Thanks for the support guys, I was a little unsure when setting off for the MOT but was soon back into the swing of it, mind you first stop was the petrol station, I know it was roughly the same price before I went in, but I still find £1.10+ per litre a bit of a shock

I'm not sure about the rally, but you never know, our eldest son starts Uni at Northampton the week before, but we're probably going down the following week (i.e. the rally weekend) to make sure he's settled in ok, so we may be able to stay over somewhere and sneak across on the sunday. I'll see what the boss says :|

Simon, I've already discussed fitting extra large doors to the conservatory so I can get the car in there, but it didn't go down well.....

Richard, I have a PhD in agronomy. If you think it can help, i can write an essay supporting the necessity of extra large doors in conservatories, and analysing the positive effects on the plants living in an enriched CO2 environment, enhanced by internal combustion engines and activities like MIG welding. :D

Glad you are getting better and better anyway!

That's great news on passing both MOT's Richard.

I'd echo the comments that it would be great to see you at the Rugeley gathering.

Hi Richard

Sounds promising, great news. :)

Will you be at Saltaire next weekend?

Richard

Yes Richard, I'll be going, won't be there for the setup etc, but will be turning up later on. I've been asked to give out the trophies etc.. :D

I have had a look at the Saltaire festival site, but can't find any mention of the YRC display.

Where is it being held? and where do you park?

Any info? When does it start etc?

Richard

Glad to learn that you are a lot better, Richard, and will be able to present the prizes at the Saltaire rally. As I could not attend last year's rally I had hoped to be there this year but this is the first note I have seen. I'm afraid at this late date I won't be attending but hope the rally is a success and intend being there next year if I find any adverts.
With best wishes for your continuing progress.
Hector

Hi Hector, sorry you couldn't make it today, although the weather was quite poor and we had quite a few no-shows.

I'm suprised we didn't send you an entry form as we normally send them out to anybody that has attended one of rallys in the last couple of years, but I haven't had too much input into this years show whilst I've been in hospital.

I'll try to make sure we get better coverage for next year, and get an entry form to you. We are investigating a couple of potential alternate venues, and may bring next years rally forward to may/june, possibly even have two events, we'll see.

Hope to see you next year
