Hi, I have just joined your forum so thought I would say hello..
I own two Rovers, a P4 and a P6, the P6 arrived today to replace my Maxi as a daily car. I don't do a lot of miles so a P6 is ok.
In addition to the two Rovers I also have a Morris Marina. :) If you want to see any pics just say. :)
The P6 isn't running great and my feeling is the carbs need overhalling but for the time being I would like to purchase some good second hand ones if anyone has any to sell.
Phil.

Hello and welcome to the best place for advice for your p6 especially. Pics are much appreciated here - we love to see the cars :)

As to the carbs when the time comes be sure to post here as there will be plenty of help...

Rich.

The paint on the car looked like this all over..

Hopefully you can see the difference, half polished bonnet...

It could really do with a few doors in honesty, at least three.. I have two second hand wings to get painted and fit. :)

Hi Phil

Welcome to the forum. Glad you managed to get your P6. I saw your thread on another classic forum. You've done a good job on the paintwork.

Dave

Hello Phil,
Nice cars you have there, I recognise your P6 from ebay. Last year, I owned a cameron green 2000 automatic with number plate EUV441J - it got me excited as your car would have been close to mine in the showroom. It makes me glad to know that such a car has gone to a british car enthusiast such as yourself. :D

In answer to your question about people using P6's as every day cars, yes we do. Quite a few people on the forum use their P6's every day. I'm not one of those people (yet) - I'm only 15, but I have a 2000 auto that is waiting for me to recomission her, so I can then use as my first car.

So all I can say is enjoy your cars as much as you can, you have a very nice collection.

Cheers, Adam.

Thanks, I've only just found this forum. I can't wait to get it running. Really gutted it doesn't as I was looking forward to going out for a play!

Thanks Adam, that is a close number isn't it! Who was the first owner of yours? Mine was a company hire car.

Anyone else use a P6 as a daily car?

Several of us do, Phil. (Look at my details below.. :D ). I've used P6s of various types as my regular transport for the last 23 years!

Welcome to the forum - anyone called Phil & owning a P6 must at least have 2 things right! 8)

I do (among others), and i cover a fairly high annual mileage.
You seem to like 70's yellows, i am tied up to the white ones.
So, what do you think of the P6 in comparison with the Marinas?
I don't ask about about the P4 (that looks excellent by the way) as i have a personal experience and opinion on this.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks, the P6 certainly feels and looks more complicated than the Marina, but at the moment the Marina has the upper hand, because it actually works!

You went for the swap then, hope she's up and running soon. I'm afraid i'm no use technically and no nowt about carbs! reading on here a lot of people have bought carb overhaul/service kits.

As mentioned here , but maybe need to identify carbs first ?

Thats what i am leaning towards, a set of carbs but I honestly have never rebuilt a carb before so would rather get some good second hand ones for now until I can get min rebuilt properly. How is yours going?

Surprisingly well so far, had a bit of a missfire but it has dissapeared after i tightened the battery terminals up as i had been in a bit of a hurry originally and just closed the boot when i got her running. First project is electronic ignition though !

Yes, I want that too, let me know how you get on with that as that is on my need list! Is yours tax exempt?
