Headlining removal

Hi everyone.
I have access to a scrap P6 & wish to remove the headlining as its better than the one on my P6 V8. Can anyone shed any light as to the best way to tackle this job without damaging anything?

Thanks
Glen.

Also you will have to remove all the seats! It WILL make it a hell of a lot easier and safer to do so,and its dead simple to take them out!!
You really will need at least 2 pairs of hands to get it out,as its a very tight fit,and VERY delicate material!!!
Also it will get dirty very easily and its a real swine to clean and get oily marks off,so when you are at the last 2 screws to go point, put some latex or cotton gloves on! Leave the middle pillar screws till last! That will stop it tilting, have 1 person either side to support it and remove the last 2 screws.
Double check for hidden screws under littleflaps of lining above the door pillar, centre pillar and rear pillar.
Remove the rear inner 1/4 panels as well, and make sure you remove the interior light fully first!
Dont rush, take it slow, and good luck!

It will with jiggling and help come out of the passenger front door, and seat removal really does help!!
You dont have to go to the trouble of taking one or both of the screens out,but it will make it easier to slide it out of they are already out!
When I removed my solid roof, and lining to fit the webasto roof,I lowered the lining down, removed the roof, then took it out through the top.
AND!! refitting the donor webasto headlining and roof was really fun!!
I practised first on a scrapper with a knackered webasto I had,but it still took 2 good careful days, with my brother to lend a hand!!

Be very careful when removing the side strips which hold the lining up along the top of the doors as they can bond themselves to the lining.

You can carefully prise them apart if you know this, and rip the lining if you don't.

Yes I have done it, and yes I ripped the lining.

Thanks everybody.

The tips given were spot on!! It just came out of the passenger door with a little wriggling.
Be fun getting it back in i thing!!

Glen.
